At the 11th Symposium on Human Factors in Organisational Design and Management ODAM) (http://www.odam2014.org/) the Chair of Psychological Ergonomics (Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg) and the Institute for Leadership and Organization (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) jointly held a workshop on Resilience against stress at the workplace.
The workshop pointed to the inconsistencies in definitions and conceptualization of resilience and introduced the concepts of first and second order resilience. Together with the participants the four speakers, namely Carolin Blum, Silja Hartmann, Prof. Dr. Jörn Hurtienne and Dr. Matthias Weiss, discussed and criticized definitions of resilience. Moreover, three focus groups worked on supporting and inhibiting factors of first and second order resilience.
Further information and results of the workshop will soon be available in a working paper.
